Reconfiguring the Console Manager Software

To reconfigure Console Manager on your host system from your operating system command line:

Log in to an account that has been granted the reconfigure privilege in the configuration database, and enter

$ CONSOLE RECONFIGURE

The reconfigure command forces the running software to reread the configuration database, and incorporate any changes you have made to it. You must reconfigure the Console Manager software whenever you make any changes to the configuration database, otherwise the changes will not be activated. Switches to this command are shown in the following table.

Switch

What It Does

/NOCONFIRM

Assumes a yes response to the confirmation question in the reconfigure command

/CONFIRM

Prompts the user for confirmation (default)

Reconfiguring SSH Connections

The Reconfigure command is a complex database reconfiguration. Some actions are run in the background; these might continue after the Console Manager Reconfigure command returns to the prompt. This is pertinent to SSH connections, which are highly asynchronous. For SSH connections, allow at least three minutes for the connections to change from unopened state (HYU) to begin opening (HYO state) as shown by the CONSOLE STATUS/ALL command. When the connection succeeds (HYE) or fails (HYF), the connection has completed.
