Deleting From the Configuration Database

Before you can modify or delete entries in the configuration database, you must have the Edit Configuration data privilege set in your user entry.

For example, to delete a user:

  1. Pull down the Edit menu and choose the User / Delete... submenu item from the User menu. This displays the Select User dialog box.
  2. Click the user you wish to delete from the list, and then click OK.

If you want to delete more than one user, then click Apply instead of OK. The Select User dialog box is not closed, and you can now select another user to delete.

Note: We recommend that you do not remove the predefined Console Manager events (prefixed with CMGR) from the database. However, you may redefine the priorities of these events if you wish.

Also, any changes you make to the predefined event or action definitions may not be preserved when your Console Manager installation is upgraded with new releases.

When you delete an entity that is referenced by another entity, then the reference to the deleted entity is removed. The following table shows the entities for which any references are removed when a referenced entity is deleted.
