Characteristics of CA-L-Serv Logs
All CA‑L‑Serv logs have the following generic characteristics:
- Each log can contain up to four cataloged data sets or a single SYSOUT data set. When more than one cataloged data set is used, they must share the logical record length (LRECL).
- CA‑L‑Serv automatically switches to a new file when the current file becomes full. However, CA‑L‑Serv overwrites data when all files become full.
- Each system must have its own log files. You cannot share log files between copies of CA‑L‑Serv. If you try to share log files, CA‑L‑Serv terminates during the initialization.
