Install the CA Business Service Insight Servers

To create your [set to your product name] system, install the server components.

If you are not going to create a database automatically, see Manually Create the Database.
Use the typical installation procedure unless want to distribute your system to four or more servers or if CA Support recommends this option.

If your server topology includes multiple servers, install the server components according to the following table:

Topology Type (Number of Servers)	Description	Installation Sequence (for each server)
One server	The database, application, and web components are installed on the same server.	Run Cloud_Insight_Server_8.3.exe on this server.
Two servers	Distributed on two servers: Database component Application and web components	Installation from scratch: Create the database on the database server. Install the application and web servers.
Three servers	Distributed on three servers: Database component Application component Web component	Installation from scratch: Create the database on database server. Install the application server. Install the web server.
Four or more servers	Distributed on four or more servers: Database component Application component Web component Additional application components	Installation from scratch: Create the database on database server. Install the application servers. Install the web server. Install additional application servers.

Follow these steps:

Copy the contents of the installation folder from the installation CD to the Installation folder.
Default: C:\Program Files\CA \Cloud Insight\Setup or %ProgramFiles%\CA \Cloud Insight\Setup

Important! Do not include & or . in the installation directory name.
Run Cloud_Insight_Server_8.3.exe from the server directory.
Select the installation language, and click OK.
To install the prerequisite component automatically, click Install.
Note: This dialog does not open if all the required components are already installed.

The installation wizard opens.
Follow the wizard through the installation.
- If your organization name contains special characters (for instance, &), add the ^ character before each special character.
  For example: AB&C is referred to as AB^&C.
- For the Setup Type, select Typical.
  Note: If this server is an additional application server, select Custom, and select only the relevant services. For more information, see Install Additional Application Servers.
- Select the server components require based on your topology.
Complete the installation dialogs.
Note: Only the dialogs that are related to the features you select open. For more information, see Installation Dialogs.

The Setup Status window opens and the installation begins.

Note: For Windows Server 2008 R2 installations, ignore the DocumentLoader error that may occur.
When the installation wizard finishes, restart the computer.
Note: Windows Server 2008 R2 requires additional configuration before you restart the server. For more information, see Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Configuration.

If necessary, install the other server components.
