64-bit Server Limitation
Important: Oracle 64-bit servers are not supported on single tier installations.
Important: In 1-tier installations, Windows, Oracle Server, and Oracle client must be 32-bit. Do not use any 64-bit version of the applications. Oracle Server must be version 11.2.0.3.
Follow these steps:
- Install an Oracle 32-bit client to a new Oracle home. Refer to the Oracle website for instructions.
- Copy the directory (located in BSI main installation CD) "\Server\program files\CA\Cloud Insight\Setup\InstallDB" to the database server.
- Open the file “start_parameters.ini” in edit mode.
The file contains this list of parameters at the top of the file under the heading [DataBaseDetailes].
- OBLICORE_ROOT=c:\oblicore
- DB_NAME=oblicore
- ORACLE_HOME=c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1
- SYS_PASS=sys
- OBLICORE_USER=oblicore
- OBLICORE_PASS=oblicore
- OBLIDBADMIN_PASS=oblidbadmin
- DB_CHARSET=utf8
- DB_SYNONYM=public
Verify that the parameter values are the same as in the list, here, in these instructions.
- Verify that the ORACLE_HOME parameter is set to the oracle_home of the server you will be using when installing the actual Insight database instance (not the oracle_home you will be using for client components).
- Make any necessary changes to the above, then save the file and exit.
- Double-click the file "Main.bat".
A command prompt window displays showing the "Main.bat" parameters and their values. Verify that all parameters are correct.
- Enter "Y" to begin the installation.
Note: If you need to change the parameter values, click N to abort; make the necessary changes and restart the installation.
- After the database Installation finishes, perform a Custom installation of CA Business Service Insight. Select only the Application components and the web components; do not select Database components.
- When a message appears and states that more than one Oracle exists, select the correct Oracle SERVER home.
- Continue the installation.
- Verify the Oracle client path.
- Go to My Computer, right-click Properties, Advanced System Settings, Environment Variables. Go to the System Variables panel, locate the Path and click Edit.
- Verify that the Oracle client path comes before the database path, then click Save.
Important: Do not select the database components.
