Debug a Metric
A metric that uses events from other metrics or a metric that sends events to other metrics can be debugged using the Business Logic Scope feature.
Note: Permission to view contracts, contract templates and service level templates is required to debug metrics.
Follow these steps:
- In the Contracts page click
next to the contract that contains the metric to be debugged.
The All Metrics tab in the Contract Details page opens.
- Click
next to the metric to be debugged.
The Metrics tab opens.
- Click
.
The Business Logic Scope page opens.
- In Time range, select the date from which the metric is effective to or click Version Dates to fill in the fields automatically according to the dates set in the system. This is a mandatory field.
- In Time unit, select the time of time unit to be used to show the results from the list. This field is mandatory.
- In Ignore, select Corrections or Exceptions to have the results show metric events sent from just one correction or exception mode (main mode).
- In Run business logic with, select preliminary to have the system use the metric's preliminary version (i.e. if there are metrics that send events to the current metric and belong to the current metric's contract). Select effective version of the modules to have the system use the metric's effective versions (i.e. if processing metrics that send events to the current metric).
- Click Run.
The results display in the Results tab.
Important: To provide a basic solution for using metric events in Business Logic scope, you can enable metric debugging based on virtual metric events manually. This means that Business Logic Scope must first be run on the metric that creates events and then on the metric that consumes them. These metric events are virtual.
