Define Contract Settings
The Contracts sub-option allows the system administrator to define which fields are displayed when creating a new contract, including which fields are mandatory and which default values display.
Note: Changing contract settings does not apply retroactively to previously defined contracts.
Click the Contracts sub-option to display the Contract Settings page.
The Contract Settings page is divided into two areas:
- New Contract Settings: For defining the fields that appear when creating a contract.
- General Preferences: For defining the business logic framework.
Follow these steps:
- In Services, select the services to be displayed as default services in new contracts from the Available list and click the arrow, or double-click the service. The service moves to the Default list. You may select as many services as required.
- In Contract type, select the default contract type.
- In Contract workflow, select the system workflow state.
- From the Currency drop-down list, select a default currency.
- From the Penalty type drop-down list, select the default penalty type, either Currency or % of payment.
- Select Display Time zone to display the time zone and select a default time zone to be displayed.
Clear Display Time zone if you do not want the time zone to be displayed on the Contract Details page.
- Select Display Fee per contract to have a Fee field appear in the Contract Details page and enter a default value to be displayed in the Fee field.
- Select Display seats per contract to have a Seats per contract field appear in the Contract Details page.
- Select Display fee per service, to have a Fee per service field appear in the Contract Details page.
- Select Display seats per service to have a Seats per service field appear in the Contract Details page.
- Select Use default objective statement to use the default as a framework when creating a new Business Logic formula.
- In Contract Sections, select the contract sections that you want to appear in the Contracts page from the Available Sections window and click
. The contract section moves to the Included Sections window.
- Click Restore Default Sections to restore the default contract sections.
- Click on a contract section that is in the Included Sections window and then click Rename section to give that particular contract section a new name. The Rename section window opens. In Section name, type a new name for the section and click Done. The section name is changed.
Note: If required, additional contract sections can be added. For information, contact CA Business Service Insight Support.
To define general preferences:
- In Business logic framework, select the framework template from the drop-down list.
- Click Save.
The preferences are saved. The Contract Details and Metric Details pages will display the fields and default values defined as the new preferences.
Note: Default values are applied to fields you choose not to display on the Contract Details page.
