Copy a Metric from One Service Level Template to Another

A metric can be copied from any Service Level Template to a specified Service Level Template. A specific metric can also be copied to a specific Service Level Template.

Follow these steps:

  1. From the Service Level Template Details page, All Metrics tab, click Add New, Select from Service Level Template.

    The Service Level Template Details page All Metrics tab opens.

  2. In the "Show Items Related To" field, select Target services only or All Services.
  3. Expand the node of the Service Level Template to select the metric that you want to copy. If mandatory metrics exist, click Complete Mandatory Metrics button to select all of them.
  4. Select Keep the original services to apply the selected metrics with their services.

    -or-

    Select Attach all metrics to this service and from the drop-down list, select the service to which the metrics are applied.

    Note: The Keep original services and Attach all metrics options are only available when CA Business Service Insight is configured to allow services to be overridden. Go to Administration, Site Settings, Advanced, Contract.

  5. Click Save & Continue.

    The Service Level Template Details page All Metrics tab opens with the added metrics shown. If mandatory metrics exist, but were not selected the following confirmation dialog box opens:

    Select the appropriate choice and click OK.

  6. Update the metric details as desired. For more information, see Modifying a Metric.

To copy a specific metric to a specific Service Level Template

  1. Click next to the metric that you want to copy and select Copy to Service Level Template.

    The Select Service Level Template dialog box opens.

  2. Select the Service Level Template to which you want to add the metric and click OK.

    The Metric Details page opens.

  3. Modify the metric and click Save.

    The metric is added to the Service Level Template and the Service Level Template Details page opens.
