Contracts Navigator Overview

The Contracts Navigator delivers a bird's eye view of system data models. It allows you to browse through customer contracts, contract parties, services, metrics and infrastructure resources.

The default hierarchy in the Contracts Navigator starts with Contract parties, Contracts, Services, Metrics and infrastructure resources. The Contracts Navigator supports CA Business Service Insight's security module and users can view and use the corresponding permitted entities only.

Services in the Contracts Navigator are services from the contract. Services are specific services that a specific contract party uses. Contracts Navigator services are not a services from the Template Folder.

Resources can be associated with services and contract parties. Resources located above the metric are resources that are associated with the contract. When viewing resources that belong to the services and contracts, the system resources are displayed. These resources may not be used in the contract's metrics.

Resources that appear below the metrics are the registered resources in the metrics through the metric business logic. Unlike the resources that appear in the contract, resources that are associated with metrics are the actual resources used by the metric for service level calculations.

When viewing the local model, you can view resources and resource groups. Resource and resource groups cannot be viewed system-wide. In addition, when there is a large number of resources, a system notification appears. The default number of resources to be displayed can be set in the Administration module. Note: When using register by resource group, you get resource groups in the system. Resources and services are in view mode only.
