Conflicts

Conflicts are situations in which an attempt is made to transfer an entity into an unsatisfactory copy of itself.

Conflict Causes

The CA Business Service Insight database stores actual data as well as the associated metadata. Whenever data is changed or modified in anyway, the metadata is modified as well. If the data in the two environments differs (for instance, if a record containing a person’s address, age, the cost of an item) it is not be copied because the possibility exists that valid data would be overwritten by invalid data.

However, this applies to the metadata as well. For example, data that were saved on one date/time may not be used to overwrite data saved on a different date/time even when the values of the actual data (not the metadata) are identical.

Any attempt to copy/transfer different entities containing different data or metadata from one environment into another causes a conflict.

Note: This applies only to entities that are copied to the Transfer Pane.
