The communication channels between CA Business Service Insight and the adapters can be started, stopped and managed as required.
Each adapter has three action buttons:

Start |
Click Start to start the communication channel with the adapter, as described in Starting Adapters. |

Stop |
Click Stop to disconnect the communication channel to the adapter, as described in Stopping Adapters. |
The status of each adapter is indicated under the status column in the Adapters page. The following table describes the available adapter statuses:

Description |

Inactive |
Initial state. The adapter is inactive. The adapter has not started. |
|
Listener Inactive |
The adapter listener service has not started. |
|
Starting |
The adapter is starting. |
|
Started |
The adapter has started. |
|
Stopping |
The adapter is stopping |
|
Not running |
The adapter is not running on the adapter's computer. |
|
Error |
Error in the adapter's configuration file, the adapter cannot start. |
|
Connection error |
Error connecting the adapter (wrong host/port), or before the adapter runs for the first time and no signal is detected. When running the adapter for the first time, this is the status. |
|
Blocked |
The maximum number of rejected events was reached. |
