Adapter Components

Adapters are made up of two components:

Generic component
This is the executable running the adapter. It can be either a Text File adapter component or an ODBC-based, SQL adapter component. These components enable connecting to a data source and parsing it as a text file or execute an SQL query on it.
Adapter configuration
Required in order to know where and how to connect, what to retrieve and how to transform and translate the data into generic CA Business Service Insight transactions and events. The configuration file is an XML file organized in sections according to the adapter flow:
- How to connect and interface the data source
- How to structure the input
- How to structure the output
- How to communicate with CA Business Service Insight in order to send and receive information.
