You can work with two kinds of scripts: Translation Scripts and Integration Scripts (both are referred to as "Translation Scripts"). The difference between them is that scripts of the "Translation" type work with Translation Entries; scripts of the "Integration" type do not work with Translation Entries.
Translation Scripts speed up the process of mapping new IT and business resources into CA Business Service Insight. The translation script automatically identifies and translates resources allowing for quick and efficient resource mapping. This translation script enables the user to apply scripts that automatically identify new resources in the system. This script also supports the interface to CMDBs, enabling the system to identify resources that are based on their configured definition. Automatic translation has a number of benefits, including easing the maintenance of translations and preventing errors. The Tools component lets the user control the database transactions that are opened in this component.
Using other CA Business Service Insight COM Objects, open other transactions, and in these transactions the commit are done whenever a method is finished. Updates already committed are not touched when an error occurs in the middle of the script. Only the updates in the effected method are rolled back.
