In the Details tab:
- In Effective, select Yes or No. Setting this field to Yes, tells the calculation engine to consider the resource in calculations (i.e. for this period, the calculation engine takes the resource group into account when performing calculation). For example, the figure below indicates a resource group that has dates with certain statuses. The Orange range is calculated by the calculation engine and the Yellow range is not.

Note: Since every change in a resource group date exists for all the resource group dates to follow, if a specific date is changed to be effective or not effective, all the resource group dates to follow are updated accordingly. In the above example, if the 30/09 is updated to be effective, the resource group is always effective.
- In Resource Types, select the resource type(s) of the resource group from the Available list and click
to add them to the Selected list. This field can be different between different dates. Assigning a resource type is useful when you need to create a custom attribute that is specific to this resource group and no other ones.
- In Resource Groups, assign the resource to a resource group or groups. This updates the relevant group as well.
- In Member Resources, assign resources to the group as follows:
- Below the Member Resources field, click Add. The Find Resources page is displayed.
- If required, filter the list of resources displayed by entering search criteria in one or more of the available fields.
-OR-
- Select a letter from the alphabetical list to search for all resources that begin with that letter.
- Click Search. The search results are displayed under the search field.
- Select the resource or resource group that should belong to the resource group from the list and click OK. The resource is displayed in the Member Resources list.
Note: You can remove a resource from the Member resources list by selecting it and clicking Remove.
- In Services, assign the resource date to a service or services.
- In Contract Parties, assign the resource date to a contract party.
- Fill in the custom attribute fields, if exist, as required. These attributes are displayed if they were created in the Catalog tab.
Note: When a resource group is allocated to a contract party or service, the individual resources in the group are also allocated. Updating the group with new resources allocates these resources as well.
