• How many packets must a monitoring device discard before an incident is created? By default, if the packet capture driver on a CA Standard Monitor or NI GigaStor drops 5 percent of the packets it receives during a 5-minute interval, CA Application Delivery Analysis creates a monitoring device incident. Edit the monitoring device incident threshold to specify the threshold value you want.

Property Details

The management console lists the following information for the incident:

Device

Displays the name of the monitoring device.

Type

Displays the monitoring device type. Note that "Monitor" indicates a CA Standard Monitor or CA Virtual Systems Monitor and "WAN Opt" indicates a Cisco WAE device.

Address

Displays the management IP address of the monitoring device.

Severity

Indicates whether the monitoring device was inactive or unavailable.

Incident on

Displays the time that incident occurred.
