View and edit the properties of an SNMP profile. If the management console is registered as a data source with the CA Performance Center, any changes you make are automatically synchronized with the CA Performance Center and any other registered data sources.
Complete the following fields:
Specifies a name for the profile. For security reasons, do not include the SNMP user name in the profile name. You may find it easier to name SNMP profiles using an owner-based naming convention, for example, Server Team or Network Infrastructure Team.
Specifies that you do not want the SNMP profile to be discovered by the management console or another product registered with the CA Performance Center.
If you have defined domains in CA Performance Center, in the Domain list, choose the domain in which you want to add the SNMP profile.
Specify the port that the management console uses to query the SNMP agent on a server or network device for performance information or network definitions. By default, the management console queries the SNMP agent on UDP port 161. Note that you cannot configure the port on which the management console sends SNMP traps. The management console sends SNMP traps to UDP port 162.
Select the version of SNMP that corresponds to the SNMP version on the server or network device.
Defines the context name, if the network device you want the management console to query is configured with a SNMP context name. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
Specifies the level of SNMPv3 security that is configured for the SNMPv3 user on a server or network device:
Specifies the authentication protocol that is configured for the SNMPv3 user. Choose one of the following:
Defines and confirms the authentication password that is configured for the SNMP user.
Specifies the privacy protocol that is configured for the SNMPv3 user:
Defines and confirms the privacy password that is configured for the SNMP user.
