The aldo-fix command applies a hotfix to a grid or to the AppLogic Distributor. You can determine where a hotfix is to be applied by checking the hotfix_readme.txt file available in the hotfix downloads directory or in the tag file contained in the fixfile described below.
Hotfixes can be applied to the Distributor, Server Controller, or Grid Controller.
Hotfixes targeted to the Server Controller or Grid Controller must specify the grid parameter or a controller_ip or controller_name. The grid that the hotfix is being applied to must be running and accessible from the Distribution Server.
Hotfixes targeted to the distribution should not specify the grid parameter nor controller_ip nor controller_name. These hotfixes will be applied to the already installed distribution and do not require a running grid. Specifying a grid for a distributor hotfix may generate errors and cause the hotfix application to fail.
Run the aldo-fix command from the AppLogic Distributor (ALD) directory, which is the directory from which you install the grid.
This command has the following format:
aldo-fix [-n] [grid=name] [controller_ip=ipaddr|controller_name=hostname] \
fixfile[.tar.bz2|.tar.gz] [args…]
(Optional) Performs a dry run: The command verifies the patch applicability and shows the commands that it would execute. The command does not make any changes or run scripts on the grid.
(Optional) Specifies the name of the grid on which to apply the hotfix. This parameter is not valid for a distributor hotfix but is required for a grid controller or server controller hotfix.
(Optional) Specifies the IP address or host name of the controller. This parameter is not required if the grid was installed or reconfigured from the same distribution server on which the aldo-fix command is run. This parameter is not valid for a distributor hotfix.
Specifies the hotfix file name. The .tar.bz2 or .tar.gz suffix is optional. If the hotfix consists of multiple tar archives, specify the hotfix name without the suffix.
The hotfix is distributed as one or more compressed tar archives:
m is the total number of files that are part of the hotfix, and n is a sequential number between 1 and m. The shorthand format with m omitted is treated exactly as partn.2, which is convenient for two-part hotfixes.
(Optional) Specifies any arguments that are described in the hotfix.
