Import from OVF Image

You can create a new class by importing a Linux or Windows OVF image.

The Class Creation wizard imports virtual machines in an OVF format to your appliance. This converts the OVF image to an unmanaged singleton appliance. You can then install a Windows or Linux APK to create a managed appliance.

Follow these steps:

  1. In the Infrastructure Editor, click the Add Class icon.

The Class Creation wizard opens with the Image Selection page displayed.

  2. Select the location as Impex Volume or URL.

If Impex File, select the ova file.

If URL, enter the URL path. Enter the username and password, as needed.

  3. Click Next.

    The Class Settings window displays.

  4. Verify the Class Name. The file name defaults to the class name.

Select the operating system, then click Next.

    The Resource Allocation window displays.

  5. Specify the resource values, as needed.

If not specified, the image configuration or default values are used.

  6. Click Next.

    The Finalizing window displays.

  7. Verify the parameter values.
  8. To import the OVF, click Next.

The Creating Class status displays, followed by the success message.

Your unmanaged appliance or level one appliance has been created, but not started.
