BFC 3.5: Network Diagnostics at Install and Discovery
All data center administrators need reliable network information.
It is very time-consuming to detect unplugged cables and wrong network configurations.
For the Backbone Fabric Controller, the following might happen:
- A server installation fails due to a network problem
- A system is quarantined due to detected network problems during the discovery
The new automatic network analysis detects the following problems:
- Check the NICs, VLANs connectivity to the BFC via external/backbone network
- More than two NICs available but not all of them have been plugged in (in case of high-availability networks)
- Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) on the backbone network
- NIC speed does not meet the required throughput of more than 1000 mbps
The information about the problem is clearly described in the document below. Network_Diagnostics.pdf
