Creating New Application_Mon Views in the AppLogic Grid
Creating New Application
Log on AppLogic and click the Applications tab.
Select New Application button, type in name and click OK.
Click on newly created application to pull up empty grid.
Drag and drop following into grid – In component from Gateway, LUX5 component from Generic and MON component from Monitoring.
Connect Out to Web in monitor and connect Mon to Mon. This can be done by clicking on the areas on the side of the component then click where they go to. To disconnect - click on line, right click and select Delete.
Double-click the In component and go to Property Values tab. Fill in the an IP Address within the range, Net Mask and Gateway values. These can be found on the bottom of the Dashboard. Click OK to save (the exclamation symbol should go away).
Select Application/Manage Volume from File Menu. Select Add on dialog and fill in name (ex. Mon), size (ex. 50M), filesystem (ex. Ext3). Select next to add the volume. Then select Done.
Double-click on the Mon component and go to User Volumes tab and select mon. Click OK to save (the exclamation symbol should go away).
Select to Application/Close.
From the grid, start the application (right-click and start or select start icon).
Creating Views
Start application.
Double-click application to get to grid.
Within the application list page, select the running app you want to monitor and then click on the monitor button on the toolbar - this will open the MON GUI. (Make sure popups are not blocked.)
Within the MON GUI, click on the 'new view' button and this should bring up the dialog to specify the name of the view.
Click Add Graph and in dialog pick Appliance and Counters for the graph.
At bottom of dialog you can adjust thresholds for Alarm Triggering.
Click OK when done. Graph will then display.
If any changes are done you must stop/restart application.
Email notification function is controlled outside grid (no info in training on how to set this).
When you double-click on Mon and in Property Values tab, you can assign a title, user, password and alarm_view data.
