Clear IPMI user slot so that BFC can add it’s power user and that the node can be power controlled by the BFC.
The script below clears slot 16 for BFC IPMI user (these particular HP nodes have 16 user slots). You will need to modify this to suit your needs.
You can verify how many user slots are available by executing 'user list' from the ipmitool command. Slot 3 on these HP machines are the default admin slot - DO NOT MODIFY as you will lose your admin privileges if there are no other admin slots enabled:
[root@bfc ~]# ipmitool -H 10.35.48.87 -U admin -P admin user list
Running against nodes with IPMI IPs of 10.35.48.1 – 10.35.48.254 (of course modify to suit your environment)
IPMI user/pass: admin/admin
Script ran from BFC:
for i in {1..254}; do echo $i; ipmitool -H 10.35.48.$i -U admin -P admin user set name 16 ""; ipmitool -H 10.35.48.$i -U admin -P admin user set password 16 ""; done
From BFC UI - > Administration -> BFC tab (3.5.0 BFC)
Press Power control authentication: Set button
Enter admin/admin user details in Backup IPMI Authentication and press Set
Press Power control authentication: Set button (may or may not be necessary... seems to work best when I press it again : )
All IPMI Power Status: Unknown will be updated accordingly.
