Monitoring

The Monitor provides a visual interface for monitoring performance and resource usage statistics of running applications. The user interface of the Monitor is highly interactive and is accessible with a web browser. The monitor enables you to add, edit and view system status graphs.

Adding Monitoring to Your Application

To monitor your application, you need to add a MON appliance in it. Any application can be monitored using the MON appliance.

To add monitoring to your application

1. Connect the mon terminal of the appliances you want to monitor to the mon terminal of the MON appliance.
2. Restart your application.

   The changes take effect.

Note: You may use balloon connections to avoid multiple connection lines in the Infrastructure Editor.

Accessing the Monitor Interface

There are two ways of accessing the Monitor interface:

• From the Monitor icon of your application in the Infrastructure Editor.

  To access to Monitor this way, your MON appliance needs to be named mon (this is the default).

• Through a gateway connected to the web terminal of the MON.

  You need to configure the user and password properties in your MON appliance. Refer to the MON data sheet for details.
