Quota Warn and Burst Levels

Quotas have warn and burst levels that control how a grid responds to the allocations.

Warn

Specifies a value that, if exceeded, displays a warning message to the user.

Default: 75%

Burst

Allows a resource limit to be exceeded by whatever the value of burst is assigned. No burst is allowed by default.

Default: 0%

When a resource limit is exceeded with or without applying the burst, or a warning level is reached, a warning message is displayed to the user trying to use the resources, and on the grid dashboard. The message specifies which resources have exceeded the limit, and it lists the quotas that were exceeded for each resource, for example, Quota for User PSmith or Quota for Group Administrators. When the usage drops below the quota limit, the warning message is removed from the dashboard.

Note: If the quota level (including the burst level) is exceeded, the allocation of resources fails.
