Create Epics

You must be a member of a product for which you are creating an epic or an administrator.

You can also create an epic from the Epics list page.

To create an epic

  1. Go to the Agile Vision menu and select Backlog from the Planning menu.
  2. Display the backlog for the product for which you want to create an epic.
  3. Click Hierarchy View in the header area.

    The backlog appears in the hierarchy view.

  4. Click New Epic.

    The New Epic pop-up appears.

  5. Complete the following fields:
    Title

    Defines the name of the epic.

    Assignee

    Defines the team member who owns the epic.

    Points

    Defines the number of points estimated to complete the epic. Point values must be expressed as integers. Decimals are not allowed.

    Priority

    Defines the importance of the epic in the product.

    Values: Very High, High, Medium, Low, Very Low, Not Prioritized

    Status

    Defines the status of the epic.

    Values: Planned, In Progress, Completed, Closed

    Team

    Defines the scrum team assigned to complete the epic.

    Theme

    Defines the theme that the epic is a part of.

    Description

    Defines the purpose of the epic and provides other relevant information.

  6. Save your changes and close.

    The new epic is added to the epics list.
