Use the Task Worklog section on the Task Detail page to log the daily hours worked on a task. You can log the hours worked on a task several times in a day. All the logged hours are aggregated and reflected as a single entry for the task for the user for that day. An ID is automatically generated for the entry.
All the hours worked on a task that are logged on the Virtual Wall are also merged into an existing entry (if there is one) on the task worklog. New entries are not created for hours logged multiple times for the same day.
The worklog is available only to product team members and administration users.
Based on the total hours logged daily for task worklogs, the following are updated:

The Worklog Edit page appears.
Defines the date for which you are creating the task worklog. The available dates are based on the sprint dates of the parent user story. If the user story is not assigned to a sprint, select a date from the last two weeks as many scrum teams use two- or three-week sprints. You can specify a date outside of the current sprint.
Defines the assignee associated with the task.
Defines the number the hours logged for this task worklog. Remaining hours on the task is recalculated based on the hours worked.
Displays the task associated with the task worklog.
The Task Worklog Detail page appears.
