Using the CADB2SY1 Reports

CADB2S0A—Input Data Preprocessor Report

The CADB2S0A report lists the SMF data sets that CADB2SY1 processes. This report also lists the SMF record types that are extracted from SMF. These record types are used to identify changes to logonids and DB2 resources.

CADB2IV1—Input Control Statement Report

The CADB2IV1 report lists the input control statements and reports any syntax errors it finds. Below are two sample CADB2IV1 reports, one with input control statement errors, and one with no errors.

CADB2SY1—Incremental Function Report

The CADB2SY1 report consists of two parts.

The first part indicates the release of DB2 for which the INCLUDE statements are generated. This part also lists the logonids and resources that have multiple changes recorded in the extracted SMF data. Because only the name of the logonid or resource is necessary for the generation of the INCLUDE statement, the synchronization utility ignores multiple SMF records for the same user ID or resource name. An INCLUDE is generated only once for any particular user ID or resource name.

  1. The number of SMF records that were read.
  2. The number of SMF records that matched SMF record types listed in the CADB2S0A report.
  3. The number of new collections, databases, packages, plans, storage groups, and tables in the DB2 catalog that are included for synchronization.
  4. The two batches of INCLUDE statements that CADB2SY1 generated. The first batch applies to logonids that were changed, the second batch applies to resources that were changed and the new resources that were created in the DB2 catalog. These batches are the input for the CADB2SY2 component.
