By masking the $PREFIX control statement, you can specify a resource rule to provide additional or alternate matching criteria for the resource name being validated. You can use the asterisk (*) to mask the $PREFIX value. However, you cannot use the dash (-) as a masking character in the $PREFIX. When a dash occurs in the $PREFIX value, it is treated as a literal character for matching purposes. For example, a $PREFIX value of TEST.ABC- matches only TEST.ABC‑.
