The DATEFMT Command

The CA 1 online facilities, CA 1 ISPF and TIQ Online Inquiry/Update, can also be used to specify DATEFMT. If you are using CA 1 ISPF (the recommended facility for inquiring on and updating TMC records), you can enter your preferred date format on the CA 1 ISPF Session Options Screen. This date format is stored in your profile pool so that it can be used across sessions.

You can use the DATEFMT command available in TIQ to specify your preferred date format.

Note: For more information about these facilities, see the Administration Guide.

The value you specify for DATEFMT has no effect on the heading line at the top of a report. All report headings, regardless of the DATEFMT specified, resemble the following example:

SUNDAY, March 25, 2005.176 YOUR COMPANY NAME PAGE=00001

The date format which appears in most of the report samples in this guide was defined by specifying the following parameter to the programs:

PARM='DATEFMT=(MMMDD YYYY)'

This date format also appears in examples:

U,109472,EXPDT='APR15 2001'

The date format, MMMDD YYYY, was selected for illustration purposes because it is easy to read and interpret.
