VMS Default Control

VMS default control is enforced when either of the following conditions exists:

• A tape has been assigned an OUTCODE equal to a vault name (including (blank)LIB and LIBR) and no entry exists for the DSN in the VPD.
• A DSN entry is removed from the VPD without checking in the volumes under VMS control for the DSN in question.

Once volumes are expired, VMS indicates that you should return the volumes to the library. An exception appeared in the TMSVMVLT output, and the Picking and Distribution Lists show the movement.
