Execute the SMF Recovery Utility TMSSMF to capture tape information from SMF data. You can use this data to update the TMC. You recover tracking data that are lost during periods of time when CA 1 was not active. SMF must be active and recording Type 14 (data set input) and Type 15 (data set output) records for the time period during which CA 1 is inactive.
TMSSMF is designed to process a sequential file that the IBM IFASMFDP SMF dump utility or the IBM IFASMFDL creates.
TMSSMF creates update transactions for the TMSUPDTE and TMSAGGR utilities. The information from the type 14 and 15 records is reformatted as control statements for these utilities. Date and time selection parameters are provided to allow you to identify the time period when CA 1 was not active.
CA 1 can be active or batch active when you run TMSSMF.
