For this example, assume that your data center does not allow permanent retention unless the data set names begin with 'ASM2.ARCHIVE', 'BACKUP.IRS', or BACKUP.FULLVOL. The control statements below will identify the invalid use of permanent retention. The report will list any volumes using permanent retention which do not store data set names beginning with 'ASM2.ARCHIVE', 'BACKUP.IRS' or 'BACKUP.FULLVOL'.
The page layout is 60 lines by 85 columns, and the output is sorted by data set name and user ID. The report will provide the following information on each record selected for output: data set name, volume serial number, user ID and expiration date. Dates are printed in the format MMMDD,YYYY. According to the delivery instructions, the report is sent to the manager of storage resources.
