Control Statements for the REPORT-SECTION

The control statements available for use in the REPORT-SECTION are:

• The REPORT-SECTION control statement identifies the start of the REPORT-SECTION. This control statement is required.
• The NEWPAGE control statement will force a top-of-form if the value of a specified field changes. This control statement is optional.
• The PRINT/DUMP/TRANSLATE control statement will cause the specified data contained in the record to be printed under a specified column heading.
• The RDUMP/RLONG control statement causes the entire selected record to be output in a formatted character or hex dump format.
• The INCLUDE control statement allows the inclusion of control statements from a PDS member. This control statement is optional.
• The NOPRINT control statement suppresses report printing. This control statement is optional.

At least one PRINT, DUMP, RDUMP, RLONG, TRANSLATE or NOPRINT control statement must be specified, and they may be interspersed as needed. However, if either RDUMP or RLONG is specified, no other operands are allowed. The control statements should be submitted in the order that the specified fields are to be printed across the page. The total number of characters for the fields requested must not exceed the specified page width. Each field or column is separated by three spaces. The width of each column is determined by the greatest of the following: length of column heading 1, length of column heading 2, or the length of the field in character format.
