Control Statement Specification

The DSN or MGMTCLAS control statement is used in the Retention Data Set (RDS) to identify data sets to be controlled and the desired retention. The DSN or the MGMTCLAS keyword indicates the beginning of an RDS rule. Control statement keywords may begin in any column, but cannot exceed column 71. Columns 72 through 80 are ignored. Control statements longer than 71 characters must be split across two lines, with the first line ending in a comma. A keyword and its value must be coded on the same line.

Note: You may specify both LABEL and ABEND with the same control statement. You must specify at least one. See examples that follow.
