VOLSER Control Statement

The VOLSER control statement is optional. It is used to select up to 10 individual volume serial numbers or a range of volume serial numbers to be printed. The format for the VOLSER control statement is:

Control Statement Definition

VOLSER

Is the control statement identifier and must start in position 1.

vvvvvv

Indicates the volume serial number(s) of the tape(s) to be reported. When two volume serial numbers are separated by a dash (-), all volume serial numbers in this inclusive range are selected and printed on the Audit report. When two or more volume serial numbers are separated by commas, each VOLSER is reported on individually. Up to 10 volume serial numbers can be specified.

Note: VOLSERs less than 6 characters in length must be padded to the right with blanks. If a range is specified, the dash (-) must be in column 14.
