DYNCOMM produces a Detail Log file and an Error Log file. The Detail Log file logs one record for each CA Dynam/T transaction, thereby recording all activity associated with the interface including SEND and RECV transactions, start and stop activity, and all error transactions. The Error Log file is identical in form to the Detail Log file, but contains only error transactions (records that were not processed).
The Detail Log file and the Error Log file can be output to a data set (disk or tape) or to SYSOUT. The DYNCOMM task must be stopped to process or print the files. A suggested method is to put the Detail Log file to SYSOUT and the Error Log file to a GDG disk data set.
The Detail Log file is needed to resolve any queuing problems or to examine events thoroughly after a problem has occurred to resolve any questions regarding the actual sequence of events. The Error Log file should be examined to ensure that CA 1 and CA Dynam/T stay in synchronization with each other at all times. Samples of the Detail Log file and Error Log file appear on Example.
