EXTEND Command—Extend the Expiration Date

Use the EXTEND command to extend the expiration date of a volume for a specified number of days from the current expiration date.

Extending the expiration date of a volume or DSNB record a specified number of days from the expiration date can be performed with the following commands:

From the system console, this command has the following format:

nn,'U,vvvvvv,EXTEND,dddd[,DSN=dsname]'
nn,'U,DSNB xxxx,EXTEND,dddd[,DSN=dsname]'

From a non-system console, this command has the following format:

U,vvvvvv,EXTEND,dddd[,DSN=dsname]
U,DSNB xxxx,EXTEND,dddd[,DSN=dsname]

The value dddd is the number of days to extend the expiration date. TIQ responds with the following:

VOLSER=vvvvvv DSN=dsname
EXPDT oldvalue WILL BE CHANGED TO oldvalue+dddd
