How to Download Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition

When you have completed the preinstallation tasks, install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. The installation process involves the following steps:

1. Download and install Windows Installer 3.1 from the Microsoft website.

   If you use Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or Windows XP Service Pack 2, you can skip this step.

2. On 32-bit platforms, download and install the 32-bit version of Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 from the Microsoft website.

   Note: To use Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, you must have, at minimum, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1.

3. Download Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition from the Microsoft website and follow the installation instructions in the product readme to complete the installation.
4. Download and install the SQL Server Management Studio Express from the Microsoft website to manage your Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express installation.

You are now ready to create the HIPS database for your installation.
