Health Check Messages › XCMH513W
XCMH513W
The total number of active tasks within the CA XCOM Data Transport region has exceeded nnn% of the configured limit as specified on the MAXTASK parameter.
The MAXTASK configuration parameter limits the number of active tasks that are allowed in the CA XCOM Data Transport region at any given time. An exception condition is recognized when the active task level reaches a certain threshold percentage of that limit. The default threshold percentage is 80%. This threshold can be modified by specifying a different percentage via the "THRESHOLD(nnn)" parameter for this particular health check.
When a CA XCOM Data Transport region reaches the MAXTASK limit, additional file transfer requests are delayed and retried at a later time. This may result in unacceptable processing delays for new file transfer requests. The overhead required to manage this exception condition may degrade the overall performance of the CA XCOM Data Transport region and adversely affect its ability to complete existing file transfer requests.
Reason:
The overall task level within the CA XCOM Data Transport region has been analyzed and compared to the defined threshold. The task level has exceeded the configured threshold value. This is an exception condition that can affect performance as stated above.
Action:
This message is issued by the CA XCOM Health Check exit, which provides detailed information about the exception condition and the suggested response. The following actions and responses are documented for this check:
- System Action:
-
The CA XCOM Data Transport region continues processing.
- Operator Response:
-
None required.
- Problem Determination:
-
N/A
- System Programmer Response:
-
Either externally pace the workflow of transfer requests processed by the CA XCOM Data Transport server or, if sufficient system resources are available, adjust the maximum number of tasks allowed by increasing the MAXTASK parameter specified on the #DFLTAB macro used to generate the CA XCOM Default Options Table. The MAXTASK configuration value can also be immediately (but temporarily) changed using the CA XCOM Data Transport DFLT console command.
