Indicates the message type, as follows:
- I—An informational message. No action is required on the part of the user.
- E—An error message. Usually some action is necessary to correct the problem or to determine the cause.
- P—A prompt requesting a response by the user.
- W—A warning message that some type of failure is occurring which may or may not be fatal to what you are doing.
