Upgrade from Previous Releases

The XcomAPI and XcomQAPI distributed with previous releases of CA XCOM Data Transport have changed for this release. If you have versions of XcomAPI and XcomQAPI that were distributed before this release, recompile your CA XCOM Data Transport applications with the current version.

The following changes have been made to the API:

• CA XCOM Data Transport now uses the following APIs:
  • XcomAPI
  • XcomQAPI
  • msgstring
• All the static libraries that were shipped with CA XCOM Data Transport in earlier releases are no longer shipped with the product. Instead, the following libraries are shipped with the product:

  For SNA Transfers

  • xcomapisna.lib—API users can use this library to perform CA XCOM Data Transport SNA transfers.
  • xcomapisna.dll—API users need to make sure that they refer to this dynamic library during execution of their custom application.

  For TCP/IP Transfers

  • xcomapitcp.lib—API users can use this library to perform CA XCOM Data Transport TCP/IP transfers.
  • xcomapitcp.dll—API users need to make sure that they refer to this dynamic library during execution of their custom application.
