In some cases it may be easier to build a conversion file by customizing a copy of ATOE.TAB or ETOA.TAB and changing the character translations only where necessary. If this is done, then the XCOM.GLB parameters, ATOE_FILENAME and ETOA_FILENAME parameters, need to be changed to point to the new customized default character set file names and then XCOMD restarted to activate these changes.
