Options

The following list explains the options available for XCOM62 and XCOMTCP:

-cNUMBER

The type of transfer attempted. Valid values for NUMBER are:

1

Send file to a remote system (default).

2

Send a report that is printed on a remote system.

3

Send a job that is executed on a remote system.

4

Receive file from a remote system.

5

Metatransfer to a remote system.

6

Metatransfer to inquire on the status of metatransfers.

7

Metatransfer to retrieve history records.

-ping

CA XCOM Data Transport tests reachability of the remote CA XCOM Data Transport Server and displays information about CA XCOM Data Transport Server.

Note: All other options are ignored.

-h

CA XCOM Data Transport displays help. The usage message is displayed and XCOM62 or XCOMTCP exits.

Note: All other options are ignored.

-q

CA XCOM Data Transport queues the transfer. This option works like the QUEUE=YES parameter in configuration files.

-r

CA XCOM Data Transport displays the release level. The release level of the software is displayed and XCOM62 or XCOMTCP exits.

-s

CA XCOM Data Transport sets silent mode, which turns off all output to STDERR.

-t

CA XCOM Data Transport sends trace output to the command prompt window (the standard error output).

-i

CA XCOM Data Transport ignores configuration errors.

-f CONFIGFILENAME

CA XCOM Data Transport reads CONFIGFILENAME to set the parameters necessary for the transfer. The syntax for setting parameters within the configuration file is as follows:

PARAMETER1=VALUE
PARAMETER2=VALUE

Note: While you can have CA XCOM Data Transport read parameters from a file as well as from the command prompt, the parameters on the command prompt take precedence and must come after the file name.

Specify CONFIGFILENAME or PARAMETERNAME=VALUE or specify both if you specify -f.

PARAMETERNAME=VALUE...

You can also set parameters on the command prompt. The syntax is as follows:

PARAMETER1=VALUE PARAMETER2=VALUE

Dependent on the parameter, the parameter value must be in uppercase. For example, QUEUE=YES is correct, but QUEUE=yes generates a command line error. However, the value for the parameter USERID does not have to be in uppercase.

Note: Parameters that are entered on the command prompt take precedence over the parameters in the parameter file.

no options

If you invoke CA XCOM Data Transport without options, the XCOM.CNF defaults are used for the transfer.
