Policy

After successful authentication, the following occurs:

• On the File Transfer tab in the CA XCOM Gateway screen, the user is presented with a list of policies for which they have been granted permission.
• For HTTP, the user sees the list of policies when they attempt to transfer.

A policy is a user-configured resource that specifies access rules, distribution requirements, file storage arrangements, and retention periods for a group of files stored within a CA XCOM Gateway environment. Each file uploaded to CA XCOM Gateway, or that CA XCOM Gateway makes available for download, is associated with a policy.

For example, policies may represent all files of an individual business application, or a subset of an application's files, to which common rules and requirements apply.

Policies are customer configurable.
