In the previous release, the migration utility was installed and run on the computer where the previous r4.4.x or r5.0.x server was installed. After running the migration utility to convert artifacts on the previous server, you manually moved the converted artifacts to the r11.1 server to complete the migration.
In this release, the migration process has been simplified. The new migration utility is installed with the server. You run the migration utility from the command line of the computer where the r11.3 server is installed. The new migration utility connects to the r11.1 or r5.0.3 server and database and migrates artifacts, global variables, and history data to the r11.3 server.
