PF Keys

After a function is selected on the menu and the function panel is displayed, program function key 3, PF3 is temporarily set to return to the DB MENU panel. In native CA WA CA 7 Edition VTAM mode, any value that was previously assigned to PF3, by either the user or CA WA CA 7 Edition, is temporarily ignored as long as the function panel is being used and reverts to the original value after it is used once or after a top line command is entered.

With the TSO/ISPF interface, PF3 does not function in this way if any other value is assigned to PF3 when the user begins the session. The return-to-menu only works in the TSO/ISPF mode if PF3 remains unassigned in TSO/ISPF mode and is thus allowed to be returned back to CA WA CA 7 Edition as a PF3.

PF7 and PF8 are similarly temporarily overridden to /PAGE-1 and /PAGE+1 respectively until PF3 is pressed or a top line command is issued.
