CONN Command

The CONN command connects high-level indexes from the SYSRES catalog to another catalog.

Note: The CONN command is not valid for VSAM or ICF catalogs.

This function is available on the UT Menu panel as FUNCTION value 8 or on any other menu or formatted panel as FUNCTION value UT.8.

This command has the following format:

CONN,INDX=index[,VOL=volume]
INDX

Defines the name to be entered as a high-level index in the SYSRES catalog.

Limits: 1 to 8 alphanumeric characters

VOL

(Optional) Defines the volume serial number of the connected volume. You can omit this field to display the connected volume for the specified index. The connected volume must be available to CA WA CA 7 Edition.

Default: SYSRES (for CVOL catalog structures)

Limits: 1 to 6 alphanumeric characters
