Move or Reallocate the Checkpoint and Queue Files

Shut down to move or reallocate the checkpoint file or the SCRQ and DQTQ files when those files are not allocated to a VIO (virtual input/output) device.

The queue files are pointed to in the CA7ONL procedure with the ddnames UCC7SCRQ and UCC7DQTQ. Using VIO reduces the maintenance needs for these two files.

The checkpoint file is pointed to in the CA7ONL procedure with the ddname UCC7CKPT.

The queue files and the checkpoint file must reside on the same device type when not using VIO for SCRQ and DQTQ.
