Use the SYSTEM field on the job definition panel to group your jobs for listing, forecasting, and reporting purposes. This SYSTEM name can be the application group, business unit, or other designation that you prefer. Also, using the SYSTEM field with the JOBNET field can further qualify your jobs.

Jobs are defined in CA7ONL using the job definition panels (DB.1, DB.10, and DB.11). These panels give various characteristics of the job including the following:

• Execution member name in the JCL library
• Some basic job requirements
• ARFSET to use for this job
• Acceptable return codes for the job
• Eligibility for prompting
• Some of the resources that this job uses

Before you can schedule or trigger the job, define it on this panel.
