Usage Notes

The index data set can require some maintenance as follows:

To add an entry for a newly created data set.
To correct erroneous entries that are the result (or the cause) of job restarts or reruns.

The CTLG command lets you perform the following tasks:

ADD new entries.
REPLACE existing entries.
DELETE entries.
COPY information from the OS system catalog.
CONSOLIDATE the index data set and system catalog to ensure the two are synchronous.
