Console Logs

The agent maintains a set of four daily console logs. The agent uses these logs to store the internal information about jobs being processed. Each day a new set of four console logs are created. The default location for the console logs is installation_volume.CAOPRLOG. However, you can specify a different location for the console logs using the CAI-CONLOG parameter in the CAUNI.CAOPTS file.

While the agent automatically rolls over the console logs daily, there is no automated method within the agent for deleting old logs. Therefore, the logs must be removed manually. However, a TACL macro CAOPRSCR.CLEANUP is provided to assist with regular console log removal. To run the CAOPRSCR.CLEANUP TACL macro, specify any of the following arguments:

• mm/dd/yyyy—Deletes any console log files older than the date specified
• YESTERDAY—Deletes any console log files older than yesterday
• WEEKLY—Deletes any console log files older than seven days
